Farewell Scooter

I wanted to post today and say goodbye to one of my fellow bloggers. She's been somewhat of a "mentor" to me when I first started blogging and has encouraged me to keep posting. Her own site, Scooter Talk has provided us with a plethora of information over the last few years. It had become a part of my morning routine. Going there took me to a time that I had missed. A time when I was raising my kids and life seemed to get in the way of following Barry and his musical career. But Scooter shared her memories and her momentos of the past with all of us and allowed us to actually be there as we read the articles, the reviews, the Q and A's from old Barrygrams and saw all the wonderful photos she took. It was a journey back in time and it was an act of love for her to share all of those memories with all of us.

Scooter you will be greatly missed. Please know that your act of kindness was not in vain and that we all appreciated the sacrifice you made to share your memories with us. You have touched all of our lives in ways that you cannot possibly imagine.

Rest assured...the memories will live on.

I just wanted to leave this for Scooter.....

Scooter, you exemplify what being a true Manilow Fan is. Your dedication for Barry and other fans has been a blessing in this messed up fan world of ours. I had dropped alot of it also, and when the new site came forth yesterday, I reconnected with a few from the good days and it has made it all worth while again for me and of course those I have just met since the first of the year.

I wish you all the happiness and again I want to thank you for everything you stand for and what you have done for the fan community over the years.

Scooter's archive helped bring me up to speed after being "out in the cold" for a lot of years. I'm sorry to see it go.

I agree. Scooter your blog pages will be greatly missed. It brought back so many wonderful memories of past concerts, tours and articles written about Barry.

I thank you for all your efforts and hope that someday you may give it a go again.

Thanks for the kind words all of you. The blog is still there. It's just that all the Manilow stuff is being deleted slowly as the stupid Blogger people will not allow multiple post deletes. So it's one at a time, so my brain will be leaking out of my ears before I'm finished. But I have managed to delete all but the last photos. People are downloading like mad, but most will never bother to say thanks for posting it so they can grab it. One person had 291 page views yesterday. Such is life in the me, me, me internet world.

I wish things were different, but sadly they are not. I won't be posting about Barry after the next couple of weeks, so I don't know who will be interested in reading my posts. No Barry photos, no Barry articles, no Barry info. Just Scooter talking. But between now and then I'll probably have some commentary.

Thanks again for everthing. It's been a fun ride, but it's come to a screeching halt.

Hello everyone

I have enjoyed Scooters posts and blogs about Barry. While I didn't follow it everyday I guess I am confused as to why she is stopping her Manilow Blog-can someone fill in the blanks for me? Thanks!

Anonymous,
Scooter has her reasons. We should respect that. Her blog is still very stimulating to read. You should check it out.
